In this activity, students will practice expressing phrases with various
tones to grasp how tone influences communication.
Organize students into small groups or pairs.
Assign each group one of the sentences listed below.
Have students take turns vocalizing the phrase using different tones of voice.
After each student speaks with a specific tone, the others will circle
the emoji on the “feelings cards” that reflects how the sentence, delivered in that tone, made them feel.
Repeat the exercise with different phrases and tones to further reinforce the concept.
